1. Who is this contract with?
This contract is between you and Plentify (Pty) Ltd (‘we’ or ‘us’). Our registration number is 2017/018535/07 and our registered address is 12A Thornhill Road, Rondebosch, Cape Town.
2. Who else is involved?
We will contract a plumber to install the HotBot on your geyser.
3. What are we offering?
We will install a HotBot geyser controller on your geyser and provide access to our mobile or web application for 2 years. In return we may control your geyser and collect your information, and use your geyser to conduct research.
We own the HotBot for 2 years from when it is installed. After 2 years ownership transfers to you automatically. If you want access to your data or the application after 2 years, you will have to pay a subscription fee to Plentify.
4. Your responsibilities
You must let us know if your information changes. For instance, if you sell your house or if the number of people living in your home changes.
You must not tamper with or remove the HotBot for 2 years from when it was installed.
If you encounter any bugs or have any suggestions on how to improve our product, please let us know so that we can continue to improve our product.
5. Where our responsibility ends
We do not make any warranties or representations other than those specifically contained in this contract. You cannot hold us responsible for any loss or harm that you suffer because you used or could not use HotBot, the application or associated data. We are not responsible for liability arising from work done by any Party other than Plentify.
6. Privacy notice
6.1 What information do we collect about you?
We will collect the following information directly from you:
(a) When we assess your eligibility to participate in the research
- Details about your current geyser setup and usage
- Details about your electricity meter and use
- Your location (suburb / city)
- Whether you own or rent your home
- Your contact details
(b) When you sign up for this offer
- Physical address
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Consent to participate in the trial
(c) When we install
- Type of geyser installed
- The times during which you want hot water
After installation, we collect information about your hot water and electricity consumption via HotBot.
6.2 How do we use your information?
We use your information to test and improve our products, and conduct trials into using geysers to reduce the risk of loadshedding.
We use your information to communicate with you, for instance to send you updates on the trial. You can ask us to stop communicating with you at any time.
We will not sell your information or share it with others in a format where you can be identified.
6.3 You have the right to be informed about the personal information that we have, and what we do with it
You have the right to know what kind of personal information we have about you, to correct it, and to opt out of marketing.
You have the right to:
- ask what personal information we have about you;
- ask what information was sent to our suppliers, service providers or any other third party;
- ask us to update, correct or delete any out-of-date or incorrect personal information we have about you;
- unsubscribe from any direct marketing communications we may send you; and
- object to the processing of your personal information.

In certain cases, we may require proof of your identity and sometimes changes to your information may be subject to additional requirements.
